West Side Christian Church Children’s Ministry
Ministry Mission
Our Children’s Ministry exists to partner with families in leading children to know, love, and follow Jesus Christ. We aim to provide a safe, welcoming, and nutritious environment where children from birth through 6th grade can grow spiritually, emotionally, and socially into disciples.

WHAT TO EXPECT
-
After entering WSCC, you’ll see a check-in table with a tablet where you can sign your child into the Children’s Ministry secured check-in system. There will also be a volunteer nearby to help enter them into the system for first-time visitors. Once the information is input, you and your child will receive a printed tag. The name tag goes on the child, and the parent/guardian keeps the tag with the printed number.
-
Name (Parent/guardian and child’s), Phone number (Parent/guardian so that we can contact you, if needed, during service), Birthday (Child’s), and Allergy/Medical Need information.
-
After checking in, your child will be invited to sit in the Children’s Worship Section, if they’d like to get started on meeting some new friends! We know it can be a little overwhelming at first, so your child is welcome to join the rest of the Children’s Ministry once they are dismissed after worship.
Children’s Ministry is dismissed after worship, and teachers guide children to their classrooms. Every one of our volunteers is background-checked, so that your child is safe from check-in to class time.
-
At the conclusion of the church service, you will pick up your child at their assigned classroom. Children will not be released without the corresponding numbered ticket you received at check-in.
What will my child learn/do in class?
We use a dynamic bible-based curriculum that includes reading stories from the bible, applying them to daily life in age-appropriate ways, games, activities, and songs that all relate to the lessons.
There is usually a snack time and crafts. Please ensure that we have accurate allergy information on your child. We strive to provide the most allergen-free snacks possible, but we cannot accommodate what we don’t know.
There is a parent handout that goes home monthly, so parents are informed and tied into what we are discussing in class.
Overall, your child will experience the love of Jesus through the faithful caring of our volunteers, learning lessons in dynamic and engaging ways, and feel well-loved by our church when they leave, excited to return next time!
